Coming from Presqueisle Street onto 9th Street; You will see a large building – the old Jr. High School (now Smeals) – located on the right side of the street. There is an alley way between Smeals and the back of Grace Church. There is a paved parking lot behind the old school that is accessible for use during the week and on weekends. There is additional parking area directly behind the church, on the weekends for services.
Basic Q and A:
Visitors – Below we attempt to answers questions you may have when
attending Grace UMC.
What should I wear? Be yourself and be comfortable! You will find
folks wearing everything from ties to jeans.
What about nursery care? Nursery care is not currently provided at
our 9am service. However, children’s church is available following the
special children’s message during the service. The children leave the sanctuary for a Sunday school curriculum and are reunited with their parents in the fellowship area after children’s church.
Where should I enter the building? From the parking lot (at the rear
of the building), enter through the glass doors into our fellowship
area. If you keep walking straight ahead you will find the sanctuary.
Greeters are present on Sunday morning to help you find your way are.
Is your building handicap accessible? Yes. The main floor on which our
Sunday and Wednesday activities are held is handicap accessible.
How do you serve Holy Communion, and can I partake as a guest?
Communion is served the first Sunday of each month and during other
special services. We serve Holy Communion (the Eucharist) by
in the pews. Guests are
invited to share as well. In the United Methodist Church we believe
that “all who love Him, who repent of their sin, and seek to live in
peace with one another” may take communion.
